3. Elizabeth Gamble Garden (Palo Alto)

I love this garden for Bay Area family photos. The space is beautiful, safe, calm, and kids usually go wild exploring all the flowers and paths. It can even be a fun little adventure if it’s your first time there.

4. Arizona Garden (Stanford)

The tones here are just… unique. The cactus garden isn’t huge, so I usually recommend it for shorter sessions. But the textures and light are incredible, perfect if you want something different from the typical green park.

5. Pulgas Water Temple

Pulgas Water Temple is perfect for photography with an elegant, timeless, and dramatic style. Its classical architecture, symmetry, and reflective pools create a serene, almost ethereal backdrop that enhances sophisticated, artistic, and editorial images.

6. Arastradero Preserve (Palo Alto / Portola Valley side)

Golden grass, rolling hills, and that true Bay Area nature feel. It’s perfect for sunset family photos, but be prepared: lots of ups and downs on the trails. If your family loves being outdoors, this is a dream location.

7. Beach Sessions

If you love the beach, the Bay Area offers some truly stunning spots that are perfect for photos. Baker Beach is a favorite for its iconic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, wide open sand, and beautiful light. It’s relaxed and spacious, giving plenty of room for playful, candid moments. Half Moon Bay offers a different vibe: wide, serene beaches where kids can explore, run, and play freely. The soft light and open space make it ideal for capturing authentic, joyful moments that feel like real memories.
